Advice from Make Up Artist at Strands, Vernon Gerstner
How far in advance should a bride book her make-up session and what should she bring with her to the trial? - Courtney, BDA Hello Courtney, A make up trial should only be booked maximum a month before a wedding. I have been doing hair and make up for 17 years and in my experience of doing trials, I would say that a month is most sufficient for a make up artist and for the bride. A professional make up artist does not always need to do a physical trial as they do this on a daily basis and are quite in touch with their trade and skills. Naturally you would like to see that the bride is happy and pleased or even get along with you. It is most important to have as much possible details and information with you when you meet. Please also be as honest as possible if you suffer from any skin...

I'm planning a wedding for November 2012. What kinds of flowers are in bloom at that time and will that make a difference in price? Sandra, BDA We have distributors located around the world, and most of our flowers are commercially available all year round! Exceptions are Sweet Pea, Lily of the Valley, Peonies and Tulips which are only available during the spring/summer season. I consider myself a very traditional bride. Advice from Etiquette Teacher, Trudy Snaith
We’re coming to Bermuda for our wedding with 50 guests. Is it rude to not see our guests after the wedding? - Meghan, FL Traditionally, the newlywed couple would depart for their honeymoon immediately or shortly after the wedding ceremony. The general expectation is that they would not be available to see guests anyway. It is therefore not considered rude if you chose not to plan post wedding entertainment for them. This does not mean that you should duck around the corner if you are out and about and see them approaching. That is rude because it would be inconsiderate of their feelings. You might think about including suggestions for post wedding activities or destination points of interest in the welcome packages that are prepared for your guests. I’m getting married in Bermu...

Advice from Wedding Planner, Yolanda Furbert
I want a private, romantic beach wedding. Can you suggest a location?—Fran, PA There are a few locations on the south shore that would be great. I would recommend Chaplin Bay, Stone Hole Bay, Jobson’s Cove and Horseshoe Bay Cove. I’m getting married in a church but the reception is going to be elsewhere. What is the best way to move a large group of people from the church to the location? —Stacey, Bda There are few ways to move your large group. There are two trains that can be rented and can carry 30 people per train comfortably. You can also rent private buses that can carry either 6, 15, 20 or 30 people per bus and, depending what you require, they will give you an hourly rate or a flat rate per bus. My groom’s family is from Bermuda and I want to incorpo...
